Believe It or Not?

A group of investigators went on a mission to capture this famous phenomenon. They settled at the North part of the Shoreline at the lake. The main sightings happen in the North shore the majority of the time. It is also better to go when the temperature is at the lowest so better rates and it captures more of the activity.

As you can see here the Lady of the Lake appears after hours of keeping a good eye open for sightings. She finally shows as if she were wandering across the sharp rocks by the shoreline.

Believe or Not to Believe...That is the Question?

There has been several reported stories from citizens around that area that have come here, to Lake Fort Phantom Hill, that have been shocked by the experience. Besides the lake itself, the ghost also strolls through an area of the lake that is composed of a labyrinth of dirt roads called Lover's lane. One witness tells us her story of the Lady of the Lake.

"My boyfriend and I were parked on one of the back roads in the lover's lane section of the lake. We had just starting making out when I suddenly felt him tense up and say that someone was approaching the car. I turned to see a woman in a white dress walking up to my side of the car. I thought it was someone coming to ask for help as I saw nothing really suspicious about her.
Once she reached the door, she bent forward and looked into the window on my side (of the car). That was when I freaked out. She had no eyes, nothing but blackness. I screamed and she casually turned and walked off, back the way she came. We started the car and left immediately." (http://www.sgha.net/tx/abilene/ftphantom2.html)

We also have one more witness that would like to share the experience of him and his friends.

"The Lady o' the Lake" is real stuff man. One night me and some of my homies where riding our harleys out at the lake, and we stopped at the benches across from the dam to smoke a phat one. As we were puffing and laughing and carrying on we noticed a faint glow appearing across the water to the west of us. Now we had some dang good reefer man but this stuff was "REAL" So as this glowing object got closer and closer we realized it was a woman!
She was wearing a white dress and was soaking wet, and all she would do was moan in a long horrific spine tingling noise that just made us crap our pants! No one moved or said a word as she passed through our little circle. Then just as she appeared , she disappeared back across the lake as if to be floating right across the top. We looked at each other and fired the hogs up and got the hell out of there , you bet your butts!!
As we were riding through the lake towards the exit over by the dam, we could hear a faint scream and the air out side got real hot and thick, it felt hard to breathe, and all of a sudden we turned onto US 180 and everything was fine as if nothing ever happened. As we rode off I could feel someone watching me from afar. I turned to see a glow moving across the lake itself ,moving in a way as though it were searching for something or someone. Perhaps she was returning to the point out in the lake where her body rests. (http://www.sgha.net/tx/abilene/ftphantom2.html)

The woman is known to roam around in a white dress walking with sorrow.
This is what it might look like if you ever dare to take a trip up to Lake Fort Phantom Hill. Look for images like these.

True Story?

Here is the video meant for that lat post...

Who is this "lake lady" that roams these Texan waters?

Lake Fort Phantom Hill is known to be around for over 100 years and is known as an agricultural land based off off it's lump sum of it's diversified economy which were oil, agriculture, light manufacturing, and service. In 1937 the construction of Fort Phantom Hill Dam was begun on Elm Creek near the southeast corner of the county. The area covered by the reservoir was annexed by the growing city of Abilene. The county economy became more diversified in the 1940s, as cattle ranching regained some of its importance and farmers increasingly turned to crops like sorghum and wheat.

Many people that know about the legend argue that these hauntings are a result from the people who have died on this very land in past years and their spirits stick around in search of something. One many one that seems to be the popular ghost story is the "Lady of the Lake". This story is reported to date back even before the lake even existed. This legend has changed over the years but those who have seen her say that she is indeed there and that she is very much real. Here are some videos of this legend. They go into detail of what this legend is truly about.

Mysterious Lady Haunts Lake in Texas

There are so many versions to this story that one cannot pick out which one could be the closest to the truth. it is said that a lonely woman roams this lake in Abilene, Texas. She supposedly roams every night around the lake and the cemetery near in search for her lover that she was to be wedded to. Another version is that she roams in search of the one who murdered her after some false rumors about her and another man. The one she once loved had dragged her by the hair and drowned her in this very lake. She roams in search of her murderer for revenge.
It is said that you CAN see her ghost but only if you do these following steps. At the lake or the cemetery near one is suppose to arrive shortly after midnight, stand quietly and wait for three nights in a row. On the third night, from midnight, wait exactly one hour and two minutes, standing in utter silence. She will appear over the headstones roaming in her white dress with her lantern surrounded by a red or blue mist.

TRUE OR NOT TRUE? WHAT DO YOU THINK?
